On the floor of the lounge I play my koauau
while looking out over the hills and the valley
The chords that I play bring dark clouds together
and streaks of blood red fly across the horizon
From the recess of space and of time itself
a figure appears in the dawning red light
A warrior's face moves slowly towards me
with feather and bone adorning his head
My heart becomes stricken and my playing now ceases
as he comes bearing a bowl filled with sweet red potatos
"Make it good" I'm instructed as he hands it to me
punctuated with stares that pierce through my heart
Are these are the kūmara stolen from Whanui
by Rongomaui as a gift for his wife?
A gift from the Gods which was taken from Vega
reigning in a new stage, a new age - a new era?
Several weeks later I'm back in the dream
but this time the kumara sit atop a gold plate
The tiniest of shoots have begun to appear
and fastidiously I remove them with care
From a humble potato can vast change occur
small tiny shoots pushing up through hard ground
It can change the environment, change the landscape
whether physical, political or inside my heart

40. The children of the gods
Laying his head down on my chest
with longing and intent deep in his eyes
He yearns once again for the touch of his mother
last felt eight times a thousand, years, ago
But his gaze doesn't fall upon my own face
nor is the longing or yearning for me
It's for his mother who lies by my side
whose spirit lies dormant as she sleeps, as she slumbers
My partner - a male
continues to sleep
as the children of Isis
draw close, draw near
Anubis the jackal still lies on my chest
but his hazel brown eyes are fixed on his mother
Sobek is here, a shy timid croc
and so too is Apis, the bull in the corner
For the time being, until she awakes
I will give comfort, I will give love
I scratch under chins, I rub under bellies
and blow warm sweet kisses into hair and to bristles
If she is Isis who lay with Osiris
then I'll be her sister and aunty to these
I will take care of the children for now
Until their own mother can love them once more
with longing and intent deep in his eyes
He yearns once again for the touch of his mother
last felt eight times a thousand, years, ago
But his gaze doesn't fall upon my own face

29. Divine Love
As soon as I closed my eyes I saw a handsome guy in his late 20's early 30's coming up on an escalator - coming towards me with his eyes fixed on me. He was very handsome, really beautiful with an amazing presence and a heart felt longing and beauty in his eyes.
At the same time though, I was conscious of where he was coming from - from 'below', from perhaps even the 'underground' or even 'Hades'. Could this have been the beautiful Lucifier? If it was, then there I was welcoming him into the World and letting come directly at me without even an attempt to stop him?!
I woke up and sat straight up in bed with the knowledge that I had allowed this man into me and into the world. I sat at the end of my bed totally shocked and stunned and continually replaying the dream.
Several days later I became aware of a new trait or a new characteristic developing - of a new power and energy beginning to eminate from my being and impress apon others. It was divine love.
I began to do research about divine love and saw the ultimate personification of divine love - the Goddess Aphroditie. On reading more about the Goddess I became aware of a love triangle she has with Adonis and where for 6 months of the year he spends time with Persephone in the Underworld and for the other 6 months he spends it with Aphroditie.
In my dream, Adonis had now returned from the Underworld to be with his sweet heart Aphroditie for the next 6 months - to contribute to and revitalise true love, divine love, beauty through sexuality, and take his place once again as the God of all Young Men.

1. Hiringa i te mahara
I was witness to the daily life of tohunga
I was a star looking out over the African continent
And with my hands I took Luke Skywalker's light sabre
bringing it down apon an atom splitting it in two
From the recesses of my mind
and with fear in my heart
I called out into the darkness of the dawn
summoning the epitome of evil
With invisible amour it stood over me
shimmering in silence
and filling my world with utter fear and despair
The tohunga's words wrapped and enveloped me
then the water received me
My unconscious mind refused to dive
and while fighting myself
at my face did Tangaroa scratch and bite me
I was both shark and prey
thrashing and diving, thrusting forward and recoiling
Until I met my foe with wide eyes opened
and seeing nothing but a myriad of blue
and the calm and depth of Tangaroa's mind itself
