Late in the night and around my own bed
footsteps are heard and shadows are seen
But neither malevolent or danger is felt
as I slumber deeply while trying to wake
And into a dream I find myself fall
until I am sitting upright in my bed
where I turn and I see outside my window
an Alien space ship surrounded by fog
Having no fear cept pangs of excitement
I step from my bed and out onto the carpet
but all around me the scenery changes
where a tent is constructed around my own bed
A reality as low and as dense such as ours
prohibits our visitors from moving with ease
So standing together, outside space, outside time
we can meet, we can heal, until our hearts climb

81. Waiata Dream Voice
Deep in a dream I move bout the house
with a chorus of words leaving my mouth
I radiate love, light and great power
and feel myself lifting up off the floor
With head thrown back and arms out to the side
I rise in the air staring up at the ceiling
and feeling my body beginning to lift
I feel like a cloud of rain and of mist
"This is too easy" I say to myself
and instruct my own body to turn on it's head
Now upside down I begin to descend
blending and moving down into the ground
Down into darkness my body turns upright
where a Lioness statue stands in the corner
Guardian is she of the entrance below
directing my passage with blazing blue eyes
A lobby or room is my destination
but more than enough for my own curiosity
In the hull of a ship I find myself walking
Poseidon or Tangaroa are guiding me now
An anchor and chain hang from the ceiling
where I hold gently to the Heavens above
and I read and I look at words and of images
scrawled and posted across all the walls
But surely enough I feel round my ankle
some sort of entity chaining my leg
and now I'm aware of why I am here
to have one hand in Heaven and a foot down in Hell...

63. Swords of Light
Propped up against the wall of my bedroom
two thin crystal swords glow brilliantly white
With one do I swallow and the other impale
ingesting their power and all of their might
Within an instant, I'm called to arms
alone in the dark with both swords in hand
and rise into the air above a small house
and protect all of those who dwell underneath
With weapons extended I turn round and round
three times anti-clockwise - cutting the air
and below me is shrieking, screaming and cries
as shadows are cast out or caused to take flight
And back down to the ground and to my own bed
do I find myself fall and go back to sleep
and when the Sun shines as I open my eyes
I feel my heart smile, way deep down inside
two thin crystal swords glow brilliantly white
With one do I swallow and the other impale
ingesting their power and all of their might
Within an instant, I'm called to arms

and when the Sun shines as I open my eyes
I feel my heart smile, way deep down inside

38. The Medicine Man
To a backdrop of stars and the plains of the dessert
did the Medicine man, move and dance before me
Wearing a grey headdress, of wolf on his head
with his own long hair braided into those of the wolf
they swirled and unfurled as he side stepped and moved
and swung out to lure me and capture my gaze
Over his body did my own eyes now fall
over a body both tanned, chiseled and strong
Over his legs were tied leather of buffalo hide
stitched at the sides down to moccasined feet
But his eyes shone like stars drawing me in
Capturing, luring me to my own feet
He'd endear me, then turn and draw me in more
Until I myself danced and was stepping and swaying
He drew me in close till I held onto him now
and made me surrender - dancing together
I felt free, I felt light, I felt beauty and love
as the two of us danced to a backdrop of stars
did the Medicine man, move and dance before me
Wearing a grey headdress, of wolf on his head
with his own long hair braided into those of the wolf
they swirled and unfurled as he side stepped and moved
and swung out to lure me and capture my gaze

14. The Young King of Sri Lanka
Pretty and beautiful the young King of Sri Lanka
Moved and danced entertaining his Court
To a backdrop of tables filled with friends,
filled with feasts and as his own washing
blew about his sweet face
With liberty and freedom did he dance once again
without even a care, for the English invading
He lifted the spirits of all those around
his people, his minders - all of the crowd
To a backdrop of tables filled with friends,
filled with feasts and as his own washing
blew about his sweet face
With liberty and freedom did he dance once again
without even a care, for the English invading
He lifted the spirits of all those around
his people, his minders - all of the crowd
In this dream he taught me sweet values in life
to revel against danger, be humble despite station
And most of all, despite my own state
Was to focus on others – to inspire, give hope

6. Pendleton blankets of white
As the first light of dawn crept over my face
words could not say just how my heart sank
as I fell to the floor and cried in your lap
Your hair long again and pulled into a bun
and through trusty old frames
You looked at me again
Wearing a robe with patterns of satin
and nursing a pillow embroidered with light
I couldn't believe a chance had been given
For one last goodbye my beautiful mate
words could not say just how my heart sank
as I fell to the floor and cried in your lap
Your hair long again and pulled into a bun
and through trusty old frames
You looked at me again
Wearing a robe with patterns of satin
and nursing a pillow embroidered with light
I couldn't believe a chance had been given
For one last goodbye my beautiful mate

1. Hiringa i te mahara
I was witness to the daily life of tohunga
I was a star looking out over the African continent
And with my hands I took Luke Skywalker's light sabre
bringing it down apon an atom splitting it in two
From the recesses of my mind
and with fear in my heart
I called out into the darkness of the dawn
summoning the epitome of evil
With invisible amour it stood over me
shimmering in silence
and filling my world with utter fear and despair
The tohunga's words wrapped and enveloped me
then the water received me
My unconscious mind refused to dive
and while fighting myself
at my face did Tangaroa scratch and bite me
I was both shark and prey
thrashing and diving, thrusting forward and recoiling
Until I met my foe with wide eyes opened
and seeing nothing but a myriad of blue
and the calm and depth of Tangaroa's mind itself
